Supervision & Management

Plan and schedule daily tasks for technicians and field staff.
Supervise and manage termination and splicing of single-mode and ribbon fiber optic cables (48F–1000F).
Oversee fiber optic cable laying, rodding, roping, and related OSP/ISP activities.
Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and reporting of all completed work.
Prepare and maintain MDF/IDF equipment; ensure proper patch cord management and dressing.
Inspect fiber routes, hub sites, and attended sites for compliance with quality standards.

Technical Responsibilities

Perform splicing of loose tube and ribbon fiber optic cables.
Operate and manage different vendors’ splicing machines and techniques.
Conduct testing of fiber optic cables using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, VFL, and other test equipment.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance.
Prepare cables for ODF installation, joint enclosures, and repair/maintenance activities.
Ensure cables are neatly tied, bundled, and secured while maintaining safety standards.
Pull cables to customer endpoints from MDF/ODF rooms.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues at fiber sites as per client standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven knowledge and experience in fiber optic technology (FTTX).
Strong understanding of single-mode vs. multi-mode fibers.
Hands-on experience in cable splicing, preparation, and termination.
Proficiency with fiber optic testing tools (OTDR, VFL, Optical Power Meter, talk set).
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, layouts, and technical instructions.
Familiarity with OSP/ISP practices including multi-core duct and direct-buried cables.
Strong documentation skills: labeling, routing, and recording of configurations.
Experience in supervising teams and managing field operations.
Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and in confined spaces safely.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company and client safety policies.
Promote safe working practices during cable pulling, splicing, testing, and installations.
Conduct preventive inspections to ensure network reliability and workplace safety.

Preferred Experience

Prior experience as both a Cable Supervisor and Fiber Optic Splicer.
Familiarity with handling large-capacity cables (up to 1000F).
Experience with joint enclosure maintenance and ODF installations.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for fiber optic network projects.
