The IT Technician is responsible for providing first-line technical support to end users, maintaining computer systems, networks, and IT equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of daily IT operations. The role supports hardware and software troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and user account management, playing a key role in ensuring uninterrupted technical service delivery within the engineering office.
JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Certifications preferred: CompTIA A+ / Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern, Desktop Administrator Associate, Cisco CCENT/CCNA (basic level), ITIL Foundation (an advantage)
EXPERIENCE:
- 2–4 years of experience in an IT support or technician role
- Experience in a private office, technical environment, or facilities/estate management setup is a plus
- Familiarity with hardware repairs, desktop support, and office network maintenance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support
- Proficiency in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Experience installing, configuring, and updating Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with basic network concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP)
Hardware & Software Maintenance
- Ability to install and maintain IT hardware, software, and peripherals
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and system upgrades
- Support asset tagging and IT inventory tracking
User Support & Helpdesk
- Respond to user requests via phone, email, or ticketing system
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to non-technical staff
- Setup of new user accounts and profiles, including access rights
Networking & Connectivity
- Basic support for LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi routers, switches, and cabling
- Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs of repairs, configurations, and system changes
- Report recurring issues or technical risks to the IT Supervisor
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple support requests
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to solving IT problems
